Mrs. Catherine E. Norris, 92, of Richmond, passed away on Thursday, January 12. She was born in Connersville, Indiana on July 20, 1930 to Edward H. and Louise M. Roell Herrmann.
Mrs. Norris formerly worked at Wayne Dairy. She later went to work at Alcoa, from where she retired after more than 35 years of service. She was a very skilled seamstress and was adept at maintaining her home. She also enjoyed gardening.
Mrs. Norris will be missed by her daughters: Melody Flowers, Chris Norris and Ann Routson & her husband, Harold; son: Rod Norris; 10 grandchildren: Nate Norris, Karen Hamilton, Stacy Prieto, Craig Owens, Scott Owens, Amanda Noland, Valerie Huffman, Justin Frazier, Nicole Robbins and Barbara Lindsey; several great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; sister, Helen Parks; brother, Ed Herrmann; and many nieces & nephews. Mrs. Norris was preceded in death by her parents, husband, William J. Norris, in 1964; daughter, Pamela Purdy; son, Patrick Norris; granddaughter, Mindy McCoy; son-in-law, Delbert Flowers sister, Stella Berg; brothers, Albert Herrmann, Paul Herrmann, Bernard Herrmann, John Herrmann and Robert Herrmann.
Family and friends may gather from 10:00 a.m. – Noon on Tuesday, January 17, at the Smith – McQuiston & Webster Funeral Home, 321 US Hwy 27, Fountain City. Pastor Bob Meckley will conduct a funeral ceremony at Noon on Tuesday, January 17 at the funeral home. Interment will follow in New Liberty Cemetery near Lynn.
