Candy (Dean) Keathley, age 59, formerly of New Castle, passed away peacefully Sunday, January 8, 2023, at Brookside Care Strategies in Muncie. She was born December 23, 1963, in New Castle, Indiana to the late Larry Sr. & Carolyn (Marshall) Dean.
Candy graduated from Walter P. Memorial High School. She worked as a chef, waitress, bartender, and truck driver throughout the years. She was an avid NASCAR fan and particularly liked Tony Stewart. She loved listening to music and dancing as well as fishing, and camping. More than anything she cherished her time with her family whom she loved with all her heart.
Candy is survived by a son Justin Johnson; 1 grandson; cousins; Rick Dean, Beth Davis, James Dean & Kimberly Evans. Nieces Ashley & Heavenly as well as several other nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her parents listed above; stepmother Gail Williams Dean; Grandmother Mary F. Smith; Grandfathers Dallas “Pete” Smith & Robert Dean; maternal grandparents Perry & Mildred Marshall; sister, Cindy Dean and brother Larry “Jake” Dean Jr.
In honoring Candy’s wishes, there will be no services at this time, but a Celebration of Life will take place at a later date.
