Rome B was an extremely loyal friend who always rooted for the underdog, and was a down to earth, hard worker since a young age. His well-known reply of “Right on!” echoes in his family’s ears as they grieve his unexpected passing.
Jerome “Rome B” Felix Loveless, 44, of New Castle, passed away unexpectedly Tuesday, February 21, 2023. He was born September 4, 1978 in Muncie, a son of Leonidas and Linda (Dishman) Loveless.
Jerome started working at a young age in carpentry while attending Blue River Schools. He worked for Polston Builders for many years, and had owned and operated Loveless Tree Service. He enjoyed fishing and tinkering with cars and anything that needed repair. He loved his family and was especially proud of his children and their accomplishments.
Extremely inquisitive as a child, Jerome wanted to know how everything worked; how it was made; he wanted to know the details! He was very quick to solve problems and create solutions to carpentry dilemmas. “Did Jerome have the answer?” “Right on, he did, in a split second!”
He leaves to cherish his memory, his mother, Linda Lou Loveless of New Castle; two daughters, Samantha “Sammy Sue” Loveless and Ava Kye Loveless, both of New Castle; a son, Finton Rome Loveless of New Castle; a brother, Val (Deborah) Loveless of Dugger; two sisters, Melody (Mike) Strelecky of Springport; Charity Loveless of New Castle; the mother of Ava and Finton, and former wife Brooke Loveless; nieces and nephews, Lucas, Katie and Dalton Loveless, Travis (Heidi) Strelecky, Tanner and Jill Strelecky; a great nephew, Alexander Loveless; many aunts, uncles, cousins and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, Leon Loveless; mother of Samantha, Heather McCotter; maternal grandparents, Felix and Lovie Dishman; paternal grandparents, Ottis and Nina Loveless; cousin Chris Dishman, uncles, Bob Dishman, Steve Jones, Dane, Arthur, James, Marion, Howard, Curt, Doyle, Weldon and Marvin Loveless; aunt, June Tartar.
