Winifred Jean (Jeanie) Gray (Atkinson) earned her wings Wednesday, June 15th, at her home, from complications of CHF. She was born on November 28th, 1939 to Winfred L Atkinson (Ben) and Myrtle M Atkinson (Martin) in Hagerstown, IN. She was known to many as Jeanie or Winnie.

The majority of her working, and even her personal life was spent helping and serving others, including being a yearly bell ringer for the Salvation Army up until her health wouldn’t allow it. She was a life long auxiliary member of The American Legion Post 315. She was known and loved for her sharp mind and memory clear up until her passing. There was not a stranger she would meet anywhere she went. She loved her soaps Young and the Restless, and kept up with the weather, news, and lineup of her shows weekly. She was a wealth of information! She deeply loved her cats, children, and granddaughter Stacey even more!

She is preceded in death by her late husband, Warren C Gray; her parents, Winfred Atkinson and Myrtle Atkinson (Martin); her grandmother Rutheann Dyke, who raised her; her children Dwayne Myers and David Myers; her sisters, Mona L Wood and Ruthanne Pickett (Porky); a nephew, Wayne Leeroy Owens II (Bubby); and special friends Barb and Gene Gross and Mary Moore.

She is survived by her beloved daughter, Ramona L Gray of New Paris, OH; her sons, Danny Myers of Richmond, IN, Frank Myers (Kristen) of Muncie, IN, Benny Myers of Anderson, IN, and Jay Gulde of Centerville, IN; her beloved granddaughters, Stacey Myers (Paul Vaught), and Bethanne Gonsalves (Manuel); her beloved great grandchildren, Hunter Jackson, Thorne Vaught, Pierce Vaught, and Bryce Vanmeter of Richmond, IN; a special cousin, David Martin of New Paris, OH; special nieces, Cindy Wood, Anna Mullin (Tim), Becky Puckett (Rob), Rhonda Pickett, Ramona Pickett, Ruth Ann Moore, Shelly Pickett, Patty Pickett, and Debbie Bailey; nephews Richard Pickett and Ronald Stiens; special grandchildren and friends, Joyce M Mitchell of Richmond, IN, Helen Wilczynski of Corpus Christi, TX, Karen and Dennis Dean of Richmond, IN, and Kristina Bennett of Richmond, IN.
