Willie was a true “Mr. Fix It”. One of the hardest workers around and could always be seen out working in his yard, garden or repairing bicycles. He retired from Dana Corp. in 1981 after being employed for 32 years. Following retirement, he and his wife, Charlotte, enjoyed wintering in Florida and flea marketing. He was an avid IU Basketball fan and enjoyed watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren participate in activities and sports.
He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Charlotte Grose; children, Sue (Gary) McCutchen of New Castle, Mike (Becky) Grose of Elwood and Tami (Todd) Eversole of New Castle; grandchildren, Josh McCutchen, Sarah (Jason) Mills, Jordan Garrison (Shawn Lowe), Max (Jessica) Grose, Jon (Jessee) McCutchen and Nick (Brooke) Eversole; 11 great grandchildren; siblings, Beverly Turner, Betty (Sam) Bell, Bonnie Waters, Barbara Dennis and Brenda (Alan) Leduc and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by a brother, Bobby Grose and sister, Beulah “Boots” Cramer.
Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. Monday, January 3, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 4 at the church he attended, Apostolic Pentecostal Church, 131 S. 26th St. New Castle, IN with Pastor Donnie Silvers and Gary McCutchen officiating.
