Willard Earl (Bill) Stackhouse Jr. passed away January 17, 2022, in Richmond, Indiana. He was 90 years old.

Bill was born to parents, Earl and Ethel Stackhouse, on October 5, 1931. A graduate of Greens Fork High School, he went on to attend both Wittenberg College and Indiana University as well as serve in the military. In 1952 he married the love of his life, Opal, with who he remained until her death in 2021.

A graduate of the Indiana School of Business (later renamed Kelley School of Business), Bill worked for a variety of companies in sales and marketing before embarking on a fruitful career as an entrepreneur. This included Stacks Inc., which he owned and operated from 1977 to 1998.

Bill was a passionate sports fan, especially of his beloved Indiana Hoosiers basketball team. He also devoted many years to youth sports as a coach and mentor. A member of various religious and civic groups, most notably the Rotary Club, Richmond’s Masonic Lodge, and Bible Study Fellowship, throughout his life he embraced opportunities to give back to the community.

Bill will truly be missed by his four children, Willard Earl Stackhouse III (Payson, AZ), Kathy Hiden (Tacoma, WA), Sarah Hyatt (Cincinnati, OH), and Samuel Stackhouse (Altadena, CA.) He is also survived by dozens of grandchildren and great-grandchildren who adored their grandpa’s warm embrace and infectious smile.
