Virginia Mae Eads, 95, passed away on Saturday, February 12, 2022 at Hendricks Regional Hospital in Danville, Indiana after a short illness surrounded by her loving family.  She was born October 8, 1926, to Bruce and Thelma (Barkalow) Shaw.

Virginia or “Ginny”, as her family and friends referred to her, was a graduate of Huntsville High School.  She lived most of her life in Economy and Hagerstown, Indiana.  She moved to North Carolina in 2014 to spend time with her daughter and just recently returned home to Indiana to spend time with her son and his family.

Virginia worked for the Nettle Creek School System as a Teacher’s Aide for over 25 years.  After her retirement, she worked part time at the Two Sisters Gift Shop and volunteered at the Nettle Creek Senior Center.  She was a member of the Kappa Delta Phi sorority out of Markleville, Indiana.  She enjoyed spending time with her family and friends and traveling.  She was always ready to go, whether it was a trip to Hawaii or just up the street to grab a bite to eat.

Virginia is survived by her children, Gary (Michelle) Eads of Brownsburg, Indiana; Krista Eads (Steven Kirby) of Apex, North Carolina; two grandchildren, Anthony Eads of St. Petersburg, Florida and Garrett Eads of Zionsville, Indiana.  Also surviving are several nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Virginia was preceded in death by her husband, Claude Eads, and siblings Mary Alice Toschlog and Ralph Shaw.
