Thomas “Tom” E. Haley, age 72, of Centerville, Indiana, died Monday, December 26, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born September 11, 1950, in Richmond, Indiana, to Bill and Shirley Wilson Haley, Tom was a life-long resident of this area. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, serving from 1969 until 1972. Tom loved pets, especially his friend Mary’s dog, Harry. He was a private person but had close friends and was always friendly to others. Tom enjoyed going to the Variety Shop in Centerville, and had a love for recycling, collecting, birdwatching, going to auctions and antiquing.
Survivors include his daughter, Rebecca Haley; sons, William (Britton Spitler) Haley and Ben (Amy) Haley; grandchildren, Grace Haley and Caleb Haley; grand cat, Mr. Batters; sisters, Jane Townley and Anne MacKenzie; nieces; nephews; and a special friend, Mary Hicks.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Memorial visitation for Thomas “Tom” E. Haley will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville. Memorial service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Saturday, December 31, 2022, at Mills Funeral Home. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery, with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.
