On August 2, 2022, Roselyn LaRue went home to be with her Lord and Savior at the wonderful age of 93.
Roselyn Ann (Maddox) LaRue was born in Spring Grove, Indiana on October 13, 1928. Her parents Richard Maddox and Clara Kutter Maddox raised her in the Catholic faith. In her youth, she loved roller skating and swimming.
Roselyn graduated from Richmond High School in 1946 and went on to get her Registered Nursing degree at Indiana University in Bloomington. After being away for several years, she returned to Richmond to raise a family and work at Reid Memorial Hospital. Starting as a floor nurse, she retired 25 years later as the 3rd shift Nursing Supervisor. Nursing was her calling and caring for others defined her life.
She is survived by her children Brian LaRue (Linda), Steven LaRue (Maggie), and Michele Luker (Mike), grandsons Matthew LaRue (Nicole), JR LaRue, Johnathan LaRue, Joshua LaRue, and Jared LaRue, her granddaughters Carole Murphy (Justin), Jessica Luker, and Jennifer Luker, great-grandchildren Ethan LaRue, JaeLynn Luker, Connor Murphy, and her brother Charles Maddox. She was preceded in death by her brother Ronald (Bud) Maddox.
At her request, a private graveside service will be held for the family. Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home is handling arrangements. Online condolences may be shared with the family via the guest book at stegallberheideorr.com.
