Rose Marie (Terhaar) Staight, age 82, of Eaton, OH, passed away Monday, November 29, 2022 at Vancrest of Eaton Health Care Center. She was born April 4, 1940 in Harrisburg, IN to the late Joseph G. And Ruby E. (Weaver) Terhaar. Rose graduated from Williamsburg High School in 1958. She married Thomas L. Staight May 10, 1958. She worked at Dowlars Cafe for 5 years, Millers Supermarket as a cashier over 10 years, and she retired as a clerk from the Bureau of Motor Vehicles office in Eaton after 30 years.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 53 years, Thomas L. Staight in 2011; brothers Joseph, Charles, Thomas, Lawrence, George, John, Richard, Harry, and Tony Terhaar.She is survived by her sons Rick (Karen) Staight of Lafayette, IN and James (Diana) Staight of Eaton, OH; daughter Tammy (Jerry) Rothwell of Jasper, AL; grandchildren Steven Sayne, Nicole (Nick) Freeman, Jessica Rothwell, Jerry “Bub” Rothwell Jr., Katie Argeroplos, Ashton Staight and Madalyn Staight; great-grandchildren Aidalyn Freeman, Ellie Jo Freeman, and Willow Rose; sisters Anna (Larry) Tornes and Elsie Terhaar; and numerous nieces, nephews, and cousins.
The family will receive friends on Monday, December 5, 2022 from 10 am to 12 pm at Gard Funeral Home, 226 West Main Street, Eaton, OH 45320. Funeral Services will begin at 12 pm at the funeral home. Burial will follow at Roselawn Cemetery, Lewisburg, OH. Memorial contributions may be made to the Williamsburg Community Center at Williamsburg, IN.
