Robert Lee McDaniel, Jr. was born on September 23rd, 1956 in Richmond, Indiana to Anna & Robert McDaniel.  Father to Lori J Zastawnik, Mathew L McDaniel, Jonathan L McDaniel, and was Dad to each of their spouses Quinton Zastawnik, Angie McDaniel & Dustin Mull.  Grandfather to Rebecca Ann Zastawnik, Zoey Lynn Zastawnik and Tomathan Lee Carter McDaniel.  Married twice first to Barbara Crutcher and then to Ava “Connie” Barker.  He has 3 sisters: Tangaylia, Shondia & Mary and many other extended family members.  He is preceded in death by his sister Tangaylia & his father.

Robert was a Son, Brother, Friend, Marine, Christian, Father and Grandfather.  The best way to say what he did for a living was a carpenter, electrician, groundskeeper, auto mechanic and even on some occasions a plumber, but not by choice.  Though even with all the hats that he wore he was best known for was his willingness to help his friends and family.  Anyone that ever knew Bobby knew they could count on him in a pinch.  And when things were broke, he would “Bobby Mac” it together and make it work.

He may have lived his whole life in Richmond, Indiana but he was never content to stay to one place.  He travelled across this great country.  From the cold North to the deep South, East to DC and West to the California coastline.  If he could drive, then it was a place to visit and even better if he had his friends or family with him.

He enjoyed many things in this world and unfortunately spent more time than any one man should working on things he did not.  Though if you had the chance to play pool with him, enjoy a BBQ in the backyard or even spend time sharing a Pepsi or two on the back porch you know that he was always good for a laugh and his sense of humor got not only him through the day, but us as well and his generosity, effort and humor will be missed by all who knew him.

He took the next step on his adventure on Saturday, January 29th, 2022 and joined God in the Holy City.  He was not alone at the end but surrounded by friends and family who prayed ceaselessly for hours that he would stay; if not be welcomed into Gods loving embrace.

Funeral services will be held at Living Faith Church of God, Friday, February 11, 2022, at 11:00 AM, with Pastor Doug Wheeler officiating.  Family and friends may visit the church Friday one hour prior to the service.  Burial will follow at Earlham Cemetery with military rites provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.  Community Family Funeral Home has been entrusted with arrangements.  Send online condolences to the family via the guestbook at www.communityfamilyfh.com
