Robert J. “Bob” Miller, 84, a resident of New Castle passed away Friday, July 15, 2022 at Community East Hospital. He was born December 3, 1937 in Noblesville to the late Paul and Thelma (Ammerman) Miller.
Bob dearly loved driving a school bus for New Castle Community Schools for many years. A real estate agent, he had formerly owned Fannin Realty in New Castle and sold insurance for Metropolitan. Bob had also driven a semi truck for North American Van Lines for over 20 years. He attended First Church of the Nazarene where he worked in the sound booth for many years. A licensed pilot, Bob enjoyed flying, traveling and woodworking. Above all, Bob loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 63 years: Barbara (Fletcher) Miller, whom he married December 31, 1958; a son: Bobby Miller of Las Vegas; three daughters: Kathy West of Illinois, Angela (Michael) Gorman of Tennessee and Trish (Keith) Napier of Plainfield; grandchildren: Jessica, Nikki, Danielle, Lexi, Drew, Jake, Elih, Addi, Asia, Summer, Collin and Noah; ten great-grandchildren; siblings: Larry Miller, Becky (Dave) Bellis, Joanna (Nehiel) Rojas, Jonathan (Debbie) Miller, Mark (Vicky) Miller, Priscilla (Mike) Linville, Paul II (Teresa) Miller, Mim (Kenny) Fry, Marybeth (Dan) McGuire and Esther (David) Williams; several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Services will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday, July 21, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Danny Goddard officiating. Burial will follow in Fisher Cemetery in Rush County.
