Robert E. Fitzgibbons, age 83, passed away on Wednesday July 6, 2022, at Reid Health after battling COPD for years. He was born in Richmond, Indiana on July 13, 1938, to Ralph and Delia Horrigan Fitzgibbons.
Robert was a military Veteran he served in the National Guard. Robert worked at PK Lumber and other businesses before moving to Columbus Ohio where he lived for 35 years.
At the age of 65 years old, he worked hard to earn his GED before retiring from Ohio State University Hospital he was an avid Ohio State Fan. He moved back to Richmond in 2012, he lived with his sister Mary before moving to the Leland for 3 years. He was a resident at Forest Park for last 6 years, the staff there became his extended family he loved to joke and laugh with them. He told the family on many occasions how much he appreciated the staff, there were some he adored. He loved watching the Cincinnati Reds and was so happy when a wonderful nurse Jamie from Forest Park took him to see the Cincinnati Reds play in person. He also loved bowling and watching wrestling. He will be dearly missed by those who knew and loved him.
He was preceded in death by his parents Ralph and Delia Horrigan Fitzgibbons and by his wife Christine Fitzgibbons and two previous wife’s Jeanie Fitzgibbons and Mary Jane Lloyd.
Left to cherish his memory are his three sons Robert (Bobby), Timothy (Tim) and Michael (Mike) Fitzgibbons; two sister’s Mary Adams and Marth Joan Rygelski (Donald) both of Richmond. There are many nieces and nephews.
