Phyllis M. Patenaude, age 96, formerly of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, April 5, 2022, at Hospice of Cincinnati.

Born November 23, 1925, in Randolph County, Indiana, to Merl and Lena Belle Thornburg Hart, Phyllis settled in Richmond in 1966, after frequently moving while her husband was in the military. She graduated from Spartanburg High School in 1943 and attended Sinclair Community College in Dayton, Ohio. Phyllis retired from Insurance Company of North America, where she served as a supervisor in the accounting department for almost 20 years. Phyllis was a member of the former Faith Trinity United Methodist Church. She enjoyed playing cards and creating scrapbooks filled with family photos. Phyllis was a wonderful, Christian woman, who always tried to leave things better than she found them.

Survivors include her son, Michael Ray (Annette) Patenaude of Loveland, Ohio; daughter-in-law, Donna Patenaude of Richmond; grandchildren, Kelly Patenaude of Richmond, Christy Patenaude of Port Clinton, Ohio, Timothy Patenaude of Greenwood, Indiana, and Kevin (Laura) Patenaude of Whiteland, Indiana; great-grandchildren, Lane, Izzy, and Bella; sister-in-law, Margaret Hart of Union City, Indiana; nieces, Deborah Kay Hart of Union City and Donna Lynn (David) Coppage of Central Florida; nephew, Pete (Teresa) Hart of Union City; cousins; and many friends.

She was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, Reginald Patenaude, who died on February 14, 2009; son, David Alan Patenaude; parents; and brother, Donald Lynn Hart.

Visitation for Phyllis M. Patenaude will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 11:00 a.m. Monday, April 11, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Eric Knight officiating. Burial will be in Spartanburg Cemetery, Indiana.
