Patricia “Pat” Elsea, 81, of Newburgh, IN, died peacefully Wednesday, December 29, 2021 at her home with her husband Jan by her side after a gallant fight with pulmonary fibrosis. She was born on October 23, 1940, in Richmond, IN to Agnes and Howard McConaha.

Pat grew up in Richmond and was a graduate of Richmond High School, where she met Jan Elsea, her husband of 60 years. She was a loving wife, mom, grandmother and an incredible friend. Pat was as smart as a whip. She was a wonderful cook and a voracious reader, who was always on top of current events. Pat loved to spend time laughing with her family and her many friends.

Pat was preceded in death by her parents; sister, Barbara Portzline; and brother, William McConaha.

She is survived by her husband, Jan; daughters, Amy Jennings of Portland, Maine and Ann Elsea of Brunswick, Maine; son, Erik Elsea and his wife Emily of Newburgh, Indiana; and her grandchildren, Elizabeth, Liam and Ryan Elsea of Newburgh, Indiana and Abigail Jennings of Portland, Maine.

Family and friends may visit on Monday January 3, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Alexander Newburgh Chapel, 5333 State Road 261, Newburgh, IN. Private Services will be held.

The family wishes to thank the teams at St. Vincent Evansville Lung Care and Heart to Heart Hospice, in particular Kim and Deb for their loving care of Pat in her last weeks.
