Owen “Buzz” Miller Jr., age 100, of West Alexandria, OH passed away Saturday, January 8, 2022 at Forest Park Health Campus in Richmond, IN. He was born April 1, 1921 in Brookville, OH to the late Owen and Blanche Miller, Sr. He was a U.S. Army Veteran who served during WWII for six years, serving in the Solomon Islands and Guadalcanal in the South Pacific. He was former co-owner of Roselius Insurance Agency for many years. He was a member of the Salem Lutheran Church in West Alexandria; was a member of James E. Ryan American Legion Post #322; was a member of King Hiram Masonic Lodge #88, West Alexandria; and was a member of the Elks Lodge in Richmond. He also sang in the Sons of Songs and the Four Kings Quartets, singing and traveling professionally for five years. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed working in the yard. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife Marietta “Kit” Miller; and 10 brothers and sisters. He is survived by his son Phil Miller of West Alexandria; daughter Pam (Jeff) Shimp of New Lebanon; daughter Kathryn (Gary) Baker of New Lebanon; son Doug (Cindy) Miller of Eaton; 12 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; one great great grandson; and numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 18, 2022 from 11:00 am until time of funeral service at 12:00 noon at the Salem Lutheran Church, 70 East Dayton Street, West Alexandria, OH with Pastor Dan Mershon officiating. Burial will follow at Sugar Grove Cemetery in West Alexandria with military honors provided by the US Army and James E. Ryan American Legion Post #322.
