Nina Lynn (Barksdale) Pryor of Richmond, passed away on Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at AMG Specialty Care in Greenfield, IN.
Nina was born April 1, 1952, in Rushville, IN., the daughter of Nina Jean (Morris) and Melvin Barksdale. She was raised and lived in Connersville for the majority of her life where she attended Connersville High School. Nina was first married to the late Hershel Browning and together they had 2 children, April and Timothy. In October of 1993, she married Rex Pryor and they took up residence in Richmond.
During Nina’s working years, she worked at both Frisch’s and Bob Evans restaurants and later at Cinram, where she was a machine operator.
She enjoyed her leisure time being creative with arts & crafts, crocheting, embroidering, jigsaw puzzles, watching movies, playing card games and playing nostalgic video games. Nina was a great cook and she loved to watch cooking shows and duplicating the recipes. She enjoyed motorcycle trips with her husband Rex, where they traveled around the U.S. Nina loved to listen to classic C&W and oldies music. As a grandmother, her biggest joy was spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. Nina was a caring and outgoing person who never met a stranger. She will be missed by everyone who knew her.
Nina leaves to cherish her memory, her loving husband Rex of 28 years. Her children April (Clark) Cosner, Centerville, IN, Timothy (Tammy) Browning of Hamilton, OH, stepsons Doug Browning, Snowmass, CO., and Nathan (Vickie) Pryor, Turlock, CA. Her grandchildren; Cory Morris and Angela Morris, Andrew, Jonathan and Suzanne Browning of Hamilton, OH., great granddaughters Makalay Brown and Evangeline Browning. Her brother Ronnie (Mary) Barksdale (Scottsboro, AL) (formerly of Richland, IN), Scotty Allford, (NC), half-sister Melody Barksdale (Kim) Krueger, (CO), stepsister Vickie (Shirley) O’Day, (TX), step brothers, Keith Shirley (VA) and Gary Shirley (NC).
Nina was preceded in death by her mother and stepfather Nina Jean & Johnny Allford, father and stepmother Melvin & Betty Barksdale, siblings Dennis & Bobby Barksdale, Becky (Barksdale)Thomas, half-sisters Rita (Allford) Poindexter, Tony Kay (Allford) King, stepbrother Earl Shirley. Paternal Grandparents; Escoe & Rebecca (Rumley) Barksdale, and many nieces and nephews. Nina also leaves behind her mother-in-law Mrs. Lona (Brown) Pryor, sisters in law Rita (Richard) Beach, Kathy Pryor of New Castle, IN and sister in law Dorothy (Joe) Mattingly, Aunts Barbara Reilly & Mary Reilly of Corydon, IN.
