Neldarie “Nell” L. Cole, 86, of New Castle passed away Sunday, June 5, 2022 at IU Health Ball Memorial Hospital. She was born February 3, 1936 in Hammond, Louisiana to the late Frank and Maimie (Culbreath) Fauntleroy.

Nell grew up in Hammond, Louisiana, the middle child of three. In 1954, she married Bob R. Cole. They moved to Texas while Bob was attending Bible College. As a devoted pastor’s wife, they first pastored in Louisville, KY. Then Scott Memorial Church of God in Chattanooga and Mishawaka as music leaders. They then served as associate pastor of First Church of God and senior pastor at Cedar Creek Church of God, both Greeneville, TN. From 1987 to 1997, they served at South Memorial Drive Church of God in New Castle before moving to the Harmony Hill Church of God in Fayetteville, TN. Nell was a true prayer warrior and care taker for her parents or anyone else who was in need. She had attended South Memorial Church of God and New Lisbon Christian Church.

She is survived by her children, Patricia “Tris” Lynn Holaway of Muncie, Mark Alan (Ruth) Cole of Mooreland; granddaughters who affectionately called her GranNell, Allyson and Ashley Holaway; sisters in law, Becky and Billie Fauntleroy and Carol (James “Chip”) Mayes and many nieces, nephews and cousins who she dearly loved and treasured.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Bob R. Cole; brothers, Rev. Gene and Rev. Les Fauntleroy.

Services will be at 1:00 p.m. Friday, June 10, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Pastor Chris Gammello officiating. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery-West Lawn Addition. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service on Friday at the funeral home.
