Nancy Ann Rupe Harrison, age 86, of Centerville, Indiana, passed away peacefully Thursday, September 29, 2022, in Richardson, Texas.
Born November 26, 1935, in Fountain City, Indiana, in the Levi Coffin House, Nancy was the youngest of three children to Dow E. and Garnet Belts Rupe, she was a life-long resident of this area. Nancy met her future husband in December of 1955 at the old Hoosier Store in Richmond, Indiana, and they were married the next September. She worked briefly as a Coder for North American Insurance. Nancy left there to become a full-time homemaker and mother of two sons. When her sons were old enough to go to school, she started working part time at the Rose Hamilton Elementary School cafeteria and was there for 28 years. She always enjoyed being around the young kids. She was a member of Centerville Christian Church.
Survivors include her sons, Michael (Sharon) Harrison of Garland, Texas and Jeffrey (Robin) Harrison of Vernonia, Oregon; granddaughters, Sara Harrison-Spradlin of Peru, Indiana and Jade Rylie Parks of Chicago, Illinois; four great-grandchildren, Bailey, Dean, Saoirse, and Tierna; sister, Norma Thomas of Fountain City, Indiana; nieces; and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Joe Harrison; parents; brother, Billy Dean Rupe; and brother-in-law, David Thomas.
Her family wishes to thank everyone at Rosebud Village in Richmond, Indiana and The Wellington at Arapaho Assisted Living in Richardson, Texas for their love, care, and compassion.
Visitation for Nancy A. Harrison will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, November 26, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery, Centerville, Indiana.
