Loretta M. Rodriguez, age 86, of Holton, Michigan, and formerly of Richmond, died Monday, August 29, 2022, at Robbinswood-Northcrest Campus in North Muskegon, Michigan surrounded by family.

Born February 6, 1936, in Benton Harbor, Michigan, to Sidney and Eva Norter Painter, Loretta lived in Richmond before returning to Michigan. She was a 1954 graduate of Fremont High School in Fremont, Michigan. Loretta was a nurse’s aide and had also worked as a hostess at Burger King. She enjoyed the sound and beauty of bells, collecting many over the years. She loved the Lord and church and was a former member of First Presbyterian Church in Richmond and attended Shores Community Church in Norton Shores, Michigan. Loretta was active in DeColores.

Survivors include her sons, Carl (Kellie) Cumings of Holton, Michigan, and Mark (Nancy) Cumings of Richmond; step-daughters, Esther Seddig and Naomi Stone of Whitehall, Michigan, and Peggy Merril also of Michigan; step-son David (Carol) Rodriguez of California; seven grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; sister, Phyllis Jackman of Richmond; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Isaac Rodriguez on July 31, 2017, after 21 years of marriage; parents; one sister; and seven brothers.

Visitation for Loretta M. Rodriguez will be from 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Friday, September 2, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Rev. John Hollis officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery’s Veteran’s Field of Honor next to her husband.
