Lois “Lavon” Sigler, a long-time resident of Cambridge City, passed away peacefully on Monday, August 8, 2022, at Reid Hospital in Richmond, IN. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. Lavon was born in Shirley, IN on October 25, 1933 to Curtis and Evelyn (Kaufman) Patton. She graduated from Kennard High School in 1950. She was happily married to Rex Sigler, who preceded her in death, for 62 years.

She was a member of Phi Chi Epsilon Sorority for over 50 years and the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge City. She performed bookkeeping duties for many auction houses including Knightstown, New Castle, and Centerville, IN. She obtained the love of the auction business from her husband, Rex. While he was auctioning, she would do the bookkeeping. The job she loved most was working with Rex while he grew his auction business doing estate and personal sales. Almost every Saturday in the summer, you would find Lavon behind a desk in a garage, settling an auction. Her favorite place to travel was the Smoky Mountains and Gatlinburg, where she and Rex would vacation, sometimes 2 or 3 times per year with friends and family. Her most recent trip there was June of 2022.

She leaves to cherish her memory a daughter, Jane (Bob) Myers of Milton, IN, a son, John (Diana) Sigler of Carmel, IN, 5 grandchildren, Tiffany (Preston) Kibbey, Brian (Erin) Myers, Michael Sigler, Katie (Dan) Smolic and Steven (Emily) Sigler, 6 great-grandchildren and two step great-grandchildren. She loved all of her family immensely.

She is also survived by her two brothers, Jim (Marcia) Patton of Indianapolis and Joe Patton of Knightstown and many nieces and nephews.

Calling is Thursday, August 11, from 4-7 p.m. with the funeral service at 11 a.m. on Friday, August 12 at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel. Interment will follow at Riverside Cemetery.

The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorials be made to the First United Methodist Church of Cambridge City, IN.
