Linda Marie Devers (Shaffer), 71, from Indianapolis, IN (originally Richmond/Centerville, IN) was born January 8, 1951, and died peacefully November 27, 2022.

She beat the odds and lived 9 years longer than the doctors told her she would. This was a testament to her determination, stubbornness, and ornery personality. Linda was blunt, straight-forward and took charge of practically everything she was involved in. If you were loved by her then you were blessed because she would do anything for you, but if you were on her list…look out! She was one-of-a-kind for sure and will truly be missed by those of us left behind. Linda loved Jesus, cooking, the Hallmark Channel and playing Poker.

Linda is survived by her doting husband Rick Devers of 55 years, daughter Sheri Spence (Jerry), son John Devers (Dawn), sister Margaret Cosner-Reece, her best friend Ali Simpson (James), Grandchildren; Christopher Spence (Amy), Jonah Spence (Ellen), Madeline Ahire (Vaibhav). Great-Grandchildren; Peyton Devers, Rick E Devers, and Aishani Krishnan, lots of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Linda was preceded in death by her parents; Herschel Shaffer and Minnie Mildred Shaffer (May) and brothers & sisters; Billy Gray, Marvin Shaffer, Herschel Shaffer Jr, Marcella Hillard, Mary Hunt, Dorothy Shaffer, Myrtle Sands, and grandson Brandon Devers. Linda did not want a funeral, but the family will have a celebration-of-life at a later time.
