Linda Leigh Phares, age 65, passed away at her residence on October 27, 2022.  She was born July 5, 1957, the daughter of Clarence and Connie Henson, in Richmond, Indiana.

Linda was a resident of Richmond, Indiana, and an affiliate of Shepherd’s Chapel.

She received her nail technician license from PJ’s College pf Cosmetology and went on to serve a large list of clienteles at Beach Club and other salons.

Linda also had partaken in several business adventures including restaurant, consignment, and grocery retail. She opened Hartman’s Market (more commonly referred to as the Corner Store) with her previous husband, John Abell (deceased) in 1987, and later went on to manage the store prior to its closing in 2018.

Linda was also a longtime member of Richmond Community Pool Leagues and gained many friendships throughout the years. Linda was best known to be generous, caring, and devoted to her friends and family, she knew no strangers and made everyone feel at home in her presence.

She leaves to cherish her memory, her children: Brittney L. Abell and John A. Abell, both of Richmond, INtwo grandchildren: Maverick Neal and Ethan Neal, both of Richmond, IN; three sisters: Denise Riley, Richmond, IN, Connie (Anthony) Witter, Bath, IN, and Jonna (Gary) Potter, Richmond, IN; one brother: Kevin Henson, Richmond, IN; one niece: Katlyn Riley, Union City, OH; five nephews: Shawn Henson, Mesa, AZ, Jeremy Ramsey, Richmond, IN, Jamison Ramsey, Richmond, IN, Daniel Henson (Claire Baker), Richmond, IN, and Dylan Henson, Richmond, IN; one uncles: Jack (Shirley), Whalen, Texas; numerous cousins including Kathy Oler; and a host of other relatives and friends including special friends: Susie Irwin, Kathy Cole, Robin Stewart and Wendy Smith.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Connie and Clarence Henson; brother: Robin Henson; former husband: John Abell; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

The family would like to express special thanks to her former husband: Donald Phares who remained a friend and caretaker through her final days. And also, her beloved dog, Bentley.
