Lillie “Mae” Ashcraft, age 83, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, February 19, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born October 3, 1938, in Honey Grove, Texas, to Dock and Goldie Freeman Clark, Mae moved from Virginia to Richmond when she was 16 years old. Mae enjoyed camping and traveling.
Survivors include her children, Pat (Mark) Brumfield of Whitewater, Indiana, Debra Reed of Mount Orab, Ohio, Diana (Jerry) Markey of New Paris, Ohio, Kenneth (Barb) Ashcraft of Richmond, and Roger (Amy) Ashcraft of Marshfield, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Tina Ashcraft of Centerville, Indiana; 17 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; siblings, Dan Clark and June Renteria, both of Richmond; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 43 years, Willie Ashcraft, who died April 28, 1999; son, Frank Ashcraft; parents; two great-great-grandchildren; and siblings, Marcella Resteria, Coy Clark, and Brenda “Katie” Bryant.
A private, family service for Lillie “Mae” Ashcraft will be held at a later date. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
