Lea Atkinson, 71, of New Castle passed away Sunday, August 21, 2022 at St. Elizabeth Healthcare Center in Edgewood, Kentucky. She was born October 22, 1950 in New Castle, a daughter of the late Porter and Alice Bell (Brown) Coffey.
Lea was a collector of everything and had a passion for rummage sales and antiques. She loved her family and never met a stranger.
Survivors include her husband, Marvin Atkinson; children, Kevin Atkinson, Shawn (Missy) Atkinson and Shannon (Ryan) Massengale; grandchildren, Kyle (Courtney) Atkinson, Tristan Massengale, Leland Massengale, Dakota Atkinson and Kolby Atkinson; great grandchild, Lain Wiese Atkinson and brothers, Donald (Ruby) Coffey & Porter (Sue) Coffey.
In addition to her parents, Lea was preceded in death by three brothers, James Coffey, Dewey Coffey and Truman Coffey; and three sisters, Viola Marcum, Patricia Coffey and Vicki Kahle.
Services will be 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle. Burial will follow in Hillsboro Cemetery.
