Laneal E. Hilbert, 65, of Cambridge City, died Friday, March 4, 2022, at Reid Health.
He was born in New Castle on January 15, 1957 to Lewis and Sarah (Shafer) Hilbert and was a life long resident of Wayne County. Laneal was a 1975 graduate of Hagerstown High School. He was a farmer, a member of Brick Cemetery Board and a member of White Branch Church of the Brethren, where he served as Community Outreach Coordinator. He was very devoted to his family.
Survivors include 4 children, Brandon Hilbert (Michelle), Abigail Renninger (Aaron), Samantha Mitchell (Daniel) and Vanessa Crawford (Brandon); 17 grandchildren; a great-grandson; 4 siblings, Lynn Hilbert (Cheryl), Lewayne Hilbert, Londa Hight and Ladean Hilbert; several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM on Friday, March 11, at White Branch Church of the Brethren. Services will follow at 1:00 PM. Pastor Brian Mackie will officiate. Burial will be in Brick Cemetery.
The family suggests that memorial contributions be made to American Red Cross or, that you consider donating blood in Laneal’s memory.
