John R. Ison Jr., age 69, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Monday, August 22, 2022.
Born June 6, 1953, in Richmond, Indiana, to John and Daisy Cornetta Ison, John was a life-long resident of Richmond. He was employed at Kemper Cabinets. John enjoyed bowling and was a member of several bowling leagues. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing, and spending time with his family.
Survivors include his wife, Doris Ann Ison, to whom he was married on September 2, 1972, and they would have celebrated their 50th anniversary this year; sons, John (Christa) Ison III and Jeff (Jackie) Ison, both of Lynn, Indiana; grandchildren, Taylor (Keith) Gvazdauskas of Colorado Springs, Colorado, Gage Ison and Quaid Ison of Lynn, and Lilly Wallace of Lynn; sister, Barbara (Owen) Ramsey of Centerville; sister-in-law, Donna Sheckles; and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his sister, Sandy Parrett and brother, Earl Ison.
Visitation for John R. Ison Jr. will be from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, August 25, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor James Gridley officiating. Burial will be in Goshen Cemetery.
