Jason D. Messer of Richmond died Sept. 20, 2022.
He was born October 2, 1962, the son of James Messer and Beulah Moore, in Connersville, Indiana.
When Jason was young he lived a short time in California and he came back to Connersville where his mother married his stepfather, Evan Osborn. He grew up on a farm south of Connersville, in Columbia Township. He graduated from Connersville High School in 1981 and joined the United States Army. He was in the United States Army until being honorably discharged in 1994. After his military service he drove a semi until 2016, when he became disabled due to health problems. Jason loved to work on cars; he was restoring a 1967 Baracuda.
He leaves to cherish his memory, his wife: Nancy Messer of Richmond, IN; two daughters and two sons: Terra Burns, Ashley Smith, Jason Messer, Jr. and Patrick Messer; four stepchildren: Heather Davis, Celeste Swanson, Michael Badger and Francesca McCarthy; six grandchildren: Kyllie Burns, Whitney Burns, Braelyn Padgett, Harper Badger, Hayden McCarthy and Charlotte McCarthy; two sisters: Vonda Skinner and Gwen O’Conner; one brother: James Messer; four nieces: Amanda McGuire, Heather Potters, Bailey Lyden and Maggie Schenck; two nephews: Mack Skinner and Evan Skinner; and a host of other relatives and special friends: Vince Adams (cousin), Larry Brown, Terry Ellison and Ronnie Rose.
He is preceded in death by his mother: Beulah Osborn; stepfather: Evan Osborn; brother: Danny Messer; maternal grandparents: Addie Moore and Aaron Moore; and paternal grandparents: Evan Osborn Sr. and Ann Berninger.
