Janet Lee Powell, age 67, of Centerville, Indiana, died Tuesday, February 1, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born May 14, 1954, in Richmond, Indiana, to Jim and June Perks Aikin, Janet was a life-long resident of this community. She graduated from Richmond High School in 1973. Janet worked at Reid Hospital for 48 years, where she served as a transporter and enjoyed being a greeter. Janet also enjoyed baking for others and loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Survivors include her husband of 46 wonderful years, Danny Powell; children, Tim (Vickie) Powell of Richmond and Jennifer (Jimmy) Cook of New Castle, Indiana; grandchildren, Lyla, Ella, and Jordon; sister, Cindy (Mark) Talbot; niece, Kim Lumkes; nephews, Mike and Mark Sims; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Louise Sims.
Visitation for Janet Lee Powell will be from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. Monday, February 7, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 8, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Bubby Smith and Rev. Kyle Allen officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery.
