James K. Snyder, age 91, of Centerville, Indiana, died Saturday, August 27, 2022, at Reid Health. Born July 22, 1931, in Glen Karn, Ohio, to Carl and Mabel Smith Snyder, James was a life-long resident of this area.
He was a 1949 graduate of Richmond High School. James served in the United States Army during the Korean War as a member of the 25th Infantry Division. He worked for the United States Postal Service as a mail carrier for over 30 years, retiring in 1989.
Survivors include his brother-in-law and sister-in-law, William & Barbara Blue of Connersville, Indiana; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years, Helen Ann Blue Snyder; parents; brothers, Donald Snyder, Thurman Snyder, Ed Snyder, Berthal Snyder, and Albert “Alb” Snyder.
Visitation for James K. Snyder will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 2:00 p.m. Thursday, September 1, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Paul Blue officiating.
