James Alton Hackworth, Jr., 74, passed away Tuesday evening, December 6, 2022 surrounded by his loving family at his home.
A son of James Alton and Lelia Kay Vice Hackworth, Jim was born in Richmond, Indiana on June 2, 1948.
On September 10, 2004, Jim married Sharon Compston and she survives.
Jim was employed at the Everton Water Works for many years. He enjoyed watching Family Feud and spending time with his family.
Besides his wife, Sharon, survivors include five children, Karen (Mike) Oler and Paula (Todd) Lee, both of Connersville, and Renee (Tony) Smith of Liberty, Ronald and Aaron Geisler of Connersville; eleven grandchildren, Athena Merz, Jessica Antico, Cesily Doub, Marcus Marcum, Sarah Doub, Michael Marcum, Nicholas Smith, Cainen Geisler, Layne Geisler, Elizabeth Geisler, Riley Smith; twelve great-grandchildren, William Jeremy Gabbard, Stephen Joseph Gabbard, Layla Geisler, Damion Priddy, Dylan Priddy, Devin Priddy, Evie Rouse, Liam Marcum, Mason Marcum, Brynn Knight, Blaire Knight, Penelope Marcum; one great-great-grandchild Jonah Gabbard; and a brother, Frank Harvey Hackworth of Willmington, North Carolina.
Jim was preceded in death by his parents; a daughter, Linda Thompson; brother, John Hackworth; four sisters, Geneva Kelly, Ruthanne Rutherford, Betty Sue Ashby, and Linda Hackworth.
A graveside service will be conducted by Pastor Chris Lovett in Everton Cemetery at the convenience of the family. Miller, Moster, Robbins Funeral Home has been entrusted with the arrangements.
