Fred E. Bennett, age 79, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, May 14, 2022, at Reid Health.

Born August 27, 1942, in McKee, Kentucky, to Herschel and Delsie Gray Bennett, Fred lived in Wayne County, Indiana, most of his live. He graduated from Richmond High School. Fred formerly worked for Richmond Gear and UCO Tool and Die, Inc. before retiring from H&P Tool Company, Inc. He was a lifelong woodworker and loved spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends.

Survivors include his wife of 59 years, Linda Laymon Bennett; children, Kimberly Robinson and Brad (Tracy) Bennett both of Centerville, Indiana; grandchildren, Brittany (Jason) Schober, Cody (Jessica) Bennett, Sean (Jacki) Robinson, Andria (Matt) Doerflein, Alex (Casey) Bennett, Kylie Bennett, Kirk Hoey, Keri (Brock) Warner, and Matthew Hoey; 15 great-grandchildren; sisters, Grethel Martin and Darlene (Philip) Larson; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.

He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Terry and Gordon Bennett; and sister, Freda Bond.

A private visitation and funeral for friends and family of Fred E. Bennett will be held at the convenience of the family with Pastor Dan Conrades officiating. Burial will be in Crown Hill Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Mills Funeral Home, 405 East Main Street, Centerville, Indiana.
