Frank Edward Reed, age 92, of Richmond, Indiana, passed away Saturday, January 1, 2022, at Ascension St. Vincent Anderson in Anderson, Indiana.

Born August 5, 1929, in Wayne County, Indiana, to Ira V. and Anna M. Boner Reed, Frank was a life-long resident of this community. He graduated from Centerville High School in 1947. Frank married his high school sweetheart, Kathy J. Clark, on June 30, 1950. He served in the U.S. Army for two years and in the Indiana National Guard for three years. While in the Army, Frank served overseas in the Trieste U.S. Troops (TRUST) command and was a member of the British U.S. Tactical Army Command Forces (BRUSTAC). He worked in quality control at Visteon for 23 years and was certified by the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC). Frank retired in August 1992. He also enjoyed working with his wife, Kathy, in their arts and craft business.

Survivors include his wife of 71 years, Kathy; son-in-law, Roy (Sandi) Collins of Centerville; grandson, Tyler R. Collins (Jami Dingess) of Richmond; and special nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his daughter, Jennifer L. Collins; parents; and brothers, Ira W. Reed Jr. and Lewis J. Reed.

Visitation for Frank Edward Reed will be from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 12:00 p.m. Thursday, January 6, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Logan Thompson officiating. Burial will be in West Grove Cemetery with military honors provided by the Wayne County Honor Guard.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a local animal shelter.
