Felicie Ann McDougall, aged 83, a 40-year resident of Richmond, Indiana, died peacefully in Zionsville, IN, on October 5th, 2022, surrounded by family.
Born November 16th, 1938, in Mt. Vernon, Ohio, to John and Lena Paques, Felicie attended Mt. Vernon High. Upon graduation, she joined the Cooper-Bessemer Corporation, where she met Lynn, her husband of 60 years. She then worked as the executive secretary to the Chief Engineer at Magnavox Corporation in Ft. Wayne, IN.
With more relocations, Felicie continued her work in Cincinnati with Jervis B. Webb Co. and started a daycare cooperative with her church. Upon the arrival of her children, Felicie switched to full-time parental duties as she and Lynn moved to wonderful communities in Sidney, Ohio, and Decatur, Indiana, before settling in Richmond in 1975. A dedicated PTA member and supporter of all her children’s activities, Felicie put her heart into her family – she was a true soccer and gymnastics mom and loved it. After her children were grown, she channeled her energies into various jobs, including work for the Palladium-Item, Richmond Community Schools as a tutor and teacher’s aide, and Dunn Mental Health Center, along with travel and visiting with friends and family.
Felicie was a long-term member of Richmond’s First Presbyterian Church, where she took great joy in the relationships that developed over the decades. She is dearly missed by family and friends who knew her through the church, the Oak Park neighborhood, her previous employers, and students whose lives were positively impacted by her assistance.
Survivors include her daughter, Beth (Brad) Pethel of Hudson, OH; son, Scott (Liz) McDougall of Carmel, IN; grandchildren Joshua and Brenna Pethel, and James McDougall; sisters-in-law Naola and Leslie Paques, Joyce McDougall, and Jean Cornelius; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Lynn; father, John Paques; mother, Lena Boyle; and brothers, John “Sonny” Paques and David Paques of Albuquerque, NM.
