Evelyn Joann Ray, age 86, of Richmond, Indiana, died Tuesday, July 26, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born December 7, 1935, in Lawrence, Illinois, to Owen Albert and Adena Evelyn Hutchinson, Joann had lived in Richmond since 1975. She worked as a retail manager at Montgomery Ward, London Fog, and Walmart. Joann was a Cincinnati Reds baseball fan, and she loved to listen to Elvis. She was a member of the Druids Lodge.
Survivors include her daughters, Sherri Wright of Mason, Ohio, Merri Sittloh of Richmond, and Teresa (John) Shoaf of Columbus, Indiana; grandchildren, Shawn Wright, Shane Wright, Ashley (Neil) Crapo, Abby Shoaf, Trey (Brittany) Shoaf, Chelsie (Thongvun) Nak, and Cameron Sittloh; brother, Benny Hutchinson; nieces; nephews; and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents; son, Jeff Wright; grandson, Chase Austin Shoaf; sisters, Freda Goodwin and Ada June Enlow; and brother, Wilbur Dean Hutchinson.
Graveside service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, July 30, 2022, at Earlham Cemetery, 1101 National Rd West, Richmond. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
