Eric Brandon Gonzalez, age 42, passed away Thursday, October 27, 2022, at Henry Community Health. He was born October 1, 1980, in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Juan Gonzales and Petra (Gonzalez) Gonzales.
Eric graduated from Muncie Southside in 1999. He enjoyed sports, Manchester United Soccer, Notre Dame and Dallas Cowboys football. He knew almost any statistic you could ask and he played about every sport in his younger years and enjoyed softball as he got older. He loved to read and enjoyed all types of music, art and knew a little bit about everything. But more than anything, he enjoyed spending time with his family, whom he loved dearly.
He is survived by; son Edin Gonzalez-Swails, mother, Petra (Tony Pettiford) Gonzalez, father Juan (Teresa) Gonzales: sister; Amanda (Andrew) Shawler: paternal grandmother Maria J. Gonzales: 2 nieces; Adelina & Izabel Gonzales as well as several cousins, extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his brother Matthew Gonzales; Maternal grandparents Jose & Tedora Gonzalez and paternal grandfather Calistro Gonzales.
Funeral Services will be held Friday November 4, 2022, at 10:00 am at Rose City Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., New Castle. Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 pm on Thursday November 3, 2022 at the funeral home.
