Emery “Sonny” Rose, age 91, of Connersville, passed away on Thursday October 6, 2022. Sonny was born in Connersville on August 9, 1931, to the late Thomas and Alice Isaacs Rose.
Sonny was united in marriage on June 10, 1961, to the love of his life, LaVerane Baker Rose. They were able to enjoy 48 years together prior to her death in 2009.
He was proud to serve with the United States Army. Sonny served during the Korean War, from 1948 to 1952, where he was a heavy vehicle driver and attained the rank of Corporal.
Sonny retired from Ford Electronics after 44 years of service in 1996. He was an avid Nascar fan, enjoyed relaxing while fishing or playing computer games and had a love for all animals.
Sonny is survived by his four daughters, Alice (Scott) Parrett, Michelle (Steve) Isaacs, Teresa Rose and Debbie; two sons, Emery Michael (Robin) Rose and Timothy Wayne Rose; as well as several grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents and wife, he is preceded in death by a daughter Sue; a son Thomas Rose; brothers, Robert Vernon Rose and Herman Rose; a sister Ada Van Dyke; and his beloved poodle, Dustin.
Family and friends may visit on Thursday October 13, 2022, from 11:00 am to 1:00 pm at Urban Winkler Funeral Home, 513 W 8th Street, Connersville. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 pm. Burial will follow at Dale Cemetery with graveside military honors.
