Elmer Troxell, age 94, a New Castle resident, passed away Saturday, April 16, 2022 at Hickory Creek. He was born February 7, 1928 in New Castle, a son of the late Cyrus and Ethel (Neal) Troxell.
He was a US Army veteran and a member of the American Legion and VFW. Elmer retired from Firestone in New Castle after many years of service. He attended the Four-Square Gospel Church in New Castle.
Left to cherish his loving memory include one son, Terry Troxell, one daughter, Sherry Troxell; two stepsons, Joe Bell and Randy Asberry; two stepdaughters, Tina Martin and Debbie Daffron; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren; several nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two wives, Jeannie Troxell and Marie Troxell; one son, Mike Hacker; one grandchild, John Martin; several brothers and sisters.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, April 21, 2022 at Rose City Funeral Home, Macer-Hall-Marcum Chapel, 2011 East Broad Street. Military Rites will be conducted by the VFW and the American Legion at the funeral home. Burial will follow at South Mound Cemetery, New Castle.
