Edward Lee Wilson, Sr., 78, of Connersville, passed away Sunday, February 27, 2022 at his home.
He was born July 23, 1943 in Connersville to Robert O. and Arveedus Vest Wilson.
On January 27, 1967, he married Mary Elaine Griffin in Metamora, Indiana. Mrs. Wilson survives.
For several years, he worked locally at D&M and Philco-Ford. He was also employed for a time at Absocold in Richmond. Over the years, he also worked at many auto mechanic shops. In 1986, he retired due to health issues and moved to Orlando, Florida, returning to Connersville in 2001.
In his leisure, Edward enjoyed fishing, working on vehicles, and spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren.
Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Mary Elaine Wilson; three children, Edward (Leiza) Lee Wilson, Jr. of Orlando, Florida, Steven (Angela) Wilson of Connersville, and Jennifer (Jose) Contagena of Orlando, Florida; six grandchildren, Joshua Wilson of Connersville, Derick Wilson of Connersville, Ciera (Aaron) Sichler of Orlando, Florida, Zachary Orth of Orlando, Florida, Mackenzie Wilson of Connersville, and Britni Wilson of Orlando, Florida; two great grandchildren, Cassidy Sichler and Anniston Wilson; two siblings, Hobie (Julie) Wilson of Sebastian, Florida and Diane (Sam) Colburn of Vero Beach, Florida; a sister-in-law, Linda Wilson of Rushville; a brother-in-law, Claude Baker of Vero Beach, Florida; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He is preceded in death by a grandson, Damon Orth; a great grandson, Ryder Sichler; two brothers, Jerry Wilson and Ray Wilson; and a sister, Roberta Baker.
