Gentle, kind, and honest natured, Doug went to be with our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on November 10th after falling, resulting in a brain bleed.
He was loved by all who met him. Doug had a great sense of humor and loved to make people laugh.
His passion besides his family was surfing, fishing, woodworking, listening to music, and playing the harmonica. There was no one better at sponge tag.
Doug was raised in Hollywood, Florida with his parents David and June, brothers David and Jeff, and sisters Cindy and Robin.
On July 15th, 1995, he married his best friend and love of his life Joyce Herdrich Woods in Ft Lauderdale at their home and became stepfather to Jessie and Will Woods. In 1998, he moved to Connersville, Indiana where his wife and her large family were from. At that time, Doug had never experienced the four seasons and did not even know what March Madness meant. He quickly learned to love three of the four seasons and watched Football instead of basketball.
Along with his wife and children, he leaves behind three beautiful granddaughters, Jemma, Kinley, and Adley; daughter-in-law, Ashley Seale Woods; his mother, June Wilke; sisters, Cindy (Benny) Guinn and Robin (Wyman) Nettles; and brother, David Wilke. Doug was preceded in death by his father, David, and brother, Jeff.
Doug will most definitely be missed by his large family, several nephews and nieces, and many friends.
