Donald “Don” Langley, 91, of Fountain City, passed away on Sunday, January 2.

He was born Charles Donald Langley on October 5, 1930 in Richmond, Indiana to Charles Francis & Nancy Emmaline Conder Langley, both of whom preceded him in death. Don was a 1949 graduate of Richmond High School. He was a US Air Force veteran of the Korean War who was honorably discharged as a Staff Sergeant. He married the former Norma Lee Perry on December 22, 1962. They were blessed with three children and nearly 57 years of marriage before her death on September 6, 2019.

Don retired as a Supervisor from Alcoa in 1992 after 35 years of service. He was a proud member of the Alcoa 25-year Club.

Don enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was a man of strong faith and a dedicated student of the Bible. He was proud of the raised gardens he tended and enjoyed fishing and collecting fishing gear. He liked to watch John Wayne movies and read Louis L’Amour novels.

Don will be missed by his children, Kim McWhorter and husband, Matt, of Franklin, TN; Nan Jones and husband, Craig, of Centerville; Chad Langley and wife, Katrin, of Seffner, FL; Jeff Langley and wife, Vicki, of Bryant, AR; Deresa Chappel and husband, Roger, of Centerville; 12 grandchildren, Ellie McWhorter, Tyler (Nicole) Jones, Jordan (Crissy) Jones, Jonny (Jessica) Jones, Emily (Alan) Sheffield, Ethan Jones, Brandon Langley, Allison Langley, Adam (Githa) Langley, Sarah Langley, Chris Chappel and Taylor Chappel; and 10 great-grandchildren. He will also be missed by his feline companion, Tommy the Cat.

Don was preceded in death by his parents, wife and one great-grandson, Ethan Chappel.

Don’s wishes were to be cremated and that no formal services be held.
