Deborah Sue Wolfinbarger, age 66, of Centerville, Indiana, died Thursday, December 30, 2021, at home surrounded by loved ones, following a brief battle with cancer. Debbie was born on December 15, 1955, in Richmond, Indiana to Donald and Eulene Davis, and was a lifelong resident of Wayne County. Debbie was a 1974 graduate of Richmond High School and went on to continue her education through Reid Hospital’s Radiology program. Following twelve years of service at Reid Hospital, Debbie continued her career as a radiology and nuclear medicine technologist at Decatur County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, Indiana. Debbie spent thirty years working there until her retirement in December of 2020.
More importantly than what she did for a living, was who she was as a person. Debbie was generous beyond words, selfless, honest, loyal, and loving. Debbie combined her love for family, travel, and shopping to create so many incredible memories for those of us close to her. It was not unusual for Debbie to make every birthday and holiday a big event with her extravagant ideas and creative ways to make every person feel special. Debbie met the love of her life, Rick, in 1975 and together they celebrated forty-four years of marriage this past October.
She is survived by her husband Rick Wolfinbarger, daughter Lesa (Tim) Price of McCordsville, grandchildren Alexis and Ashton Price, sisters Barbara Norris of Richmond, Darlene Davis-Lloyd of Florida, Linda Sweigart and son Brody also of Florida, close family friends Alisa (Brent) McCollum, Zach Runyan, Olivia Caldwell and Will Caldwell of McCordsville, and faithful companion Max. Debbie is preceded in death by her parents Donald and Eulene Davis and brother-in-law Gary Sweigart.
The family would like to thank the nursing staff at Reid Hospital on the Obstetrics floor for not only their exceptional care but for their compassion shown to Debbie and her family during this difficult time.
There will be a visitation to celebrate and honor Debbie on Saturday, January 8th from 2 PM until 5 PM at Stegall-Berheide-Orr 222 North 10th Street, Richmond, Indiana. The family requests face coverings be worn by all, and hands sanitized upon arrival. Both will be available at the door. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Reid Hospice 1100 Reid Pkwy, Richmond, Indiana 47374 or at www.reidhealth.org/services/hospice-services. Online condolences may be shared with the family via the guest book at stegallberheideorr.com.
