David T. Hockersmith, age 65, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, August 20, 2022, of natural causes at his home.
Born May 21, 1957, in Deland, Florida, to Harold and Jane Hockersmith, David lived most of his life in Richmond. He was a 1975 graduate of Richmond High School. David served in the Navy from 1976 to 1979. He started and owned Hockersmith Transportation Services Company, Inc. for twenty years before beginning a career in the remodeling business, Landlords Helper, LLC. David enjoyed his coffee with company, a game of gin, bargains, and most of all he loved spending time with his children, especially his granddaughter.
Survivors include his daughter, Brandy Hockersmith; son, CD (Katie) Hockersmith; granddaughter, Millie Jane Hockersmith; and nephews, Aron Hockersmith and Chris Hockersmith.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Harold and Jane Hockersmith; brothers, Michael and Martin Hockersmith.
There will be a Celebration of Life for David T. Hockersmith at a later date. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
