Charles Noel Black, Jr., 59, of New Castle passed away Tuesday, November 15, 2022 at his residence, following a brief illness. He was born March 16, 1963 in New Castle, Indiana, a son of Charles and Frances Ann (Cahue) Black.
He was a 1981 graduate of New Castle Chrysler High School. He was a 25 year member of Muncie, Indiana Local 855 Brotherhood of Electrical Workers. Charlie was a parishioner of Saint Anne’s Catholic Church, as well as attended Saint Anne’s Elementary School. He grew up working at C & F Sporting Goods, the family store.
He was preceded in death by his father, Charlie Black, Sr.; and grandparents, Juan & Grace Cahue and Edgar & Helen Black.
Survivors include his mother, Frances Black; son, Daniel Black; two grandchildren, Shauni and Wyatt; three sisters, Debra (Rick) Idler, Shirley (John) West and Lisa Black; and many nieces & nephews.
Services will be 12:30 p.m. Friday, November 18, 2022 at Hinsey-Brown Funeral Service in New Castle with Father John Hall officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memory Gardens. Visitation will be from 10:30 a.m. until time of services Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be given to St. Jude Children’s Hospital, P.O.
