Brenda Joy Dryden, age 74, of Richmond, Indiana, died Wednesday, October 12, 2022, at Reid Health.
Born October 29, 1947, in Richmond, Indiana, to Larry E. and Wanetta Laswell Watts, Brenda was a life-long resident of Richmond and retired from Stevens Wire. Brenda enjoyed quilting, bowling, gardening, and was very active at church. Brenda did not know a stranger, was accepting of everyone, and everybody knew her as the neighborhood mom. She volunteered at Circle U Help Center and was a member at Fairview Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughter, Brandi (Darren) Payne of Cambridge City, Indiana; sons, Brian (April) Dryden of Richmond and Eric (Eddie) Dryden of New Castle, Indiana; eight grandchildren, Zachariah, Tyler, Racheal, Brent, Jacob, Joycelyn, Bobby, and Ethan; seven great-grandchildren; sister, Reva (Rick) Hartman of Eaton, Ohio; brother, Kevin (Kathy) Watts of Richmond; nieces; nephews; cousins; and many friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 52 years, Elmer L. Dryden who passed away on June 7, 2017; parents; brother, David Watts; and aunt, Junie Hay.
Visitation for Brenda Joy Dryden will be from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond. Funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 19, 2022, at Doan & Mills Funeral Home with Pastor Steven Lantz officiating. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery.
