Bonnie L. Smith, age 93, a New Castle resident, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2022, at Ambassador Health Care in Centerville, Indiana. She was born January 5, 1929, in New Castle, a daughter of the late John and Laura (Johnson) Dabney.
She is survived by two sons, Randy (Deborah) Smith, Kerry Smith; one daughter, Susan M. Yates; one brother, John Rex Dabney; seven grandchildren, and several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins also survive.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Knox Smith.
Funeral services will be held 1:00 p.m., Thursday, October 20, 2022, at Rose City Funeral Home, 2011 East Broad St., with Reverend Charles Dugger officiating. Burial will follow at Dunreith Cemetery. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m., until service time on Thursday.
