Betty Janice (Jones) Banta, Richmond, passed away on Friday February 4th, 2022, at the age of 84. Betty was born to Henry and Laura (Hammons) Jones on August 7th, 1937, in Bell County, Four Mile, Kentucky. She has lived in the Richmond are for more than 60 years. Betty graduated high school and attended a few years in college, which lead her to working at Richmond State Hospital for over 25 years as a QMA. Throughout her life, Betty enjoyed being a loving wife to Jack “Jackie” Banta, a doting mother to her children, fishing, crocheting, painting, and feeding the birds.

Betty is survived by; children, Sharon Martinez, Vicky Gray, Sue Garrison, Tim Lingar, and Lawrence Lingar; many, grand, great grand and great-great grandchildren.

Betty is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Jack “Jackie” Banta, who passed away on March 10th, 2015; two daughters, Laura Jenkins who passed on September 10th, 2020, and Karen Smith who passed on April 1st, 2011.
