Betty Carol Ghearing, 75, born to Beulah and Raymond Cruse of Richmond, Indiana, passed away November 9, 2022, in North Carolina where she had resided since 2019 with her grandson, daughter, and family. She became a retiree from Reid hospital in 2010, where she was a dedicated employee for 35 years.
She was loved by all and passed peacefully with family, special healthcare workers, Pat Crouse, Chelsea McNeal, and a special friend, her cat Maya, at her side. She enjoyed country music (her favorite singer was Blake Shelton), playing bingo, socializing with friends, and riding the city bus.
She was preceded in death by her mother, father, aunts, uncles, and great-niece, Lilly Lynn Banning-Baker. She is survived by her daughter Vickie, and son-in-law, Tony Puckett, 2 sisters, Hattie (Libby) Baker, Gladys, and brother-in-law, Eugene Fannin, 1 nephew, Travis Baker, 3 great-nephews, Landon, Alexander, and Gabriel, 3 grandchildren Kyle, Earl, and Brittney, 10 great-grandchildren, Landon Wayne, Madison Layne, Wade, Bentlee, Miley, Joshua, Logan, Madison Jayne, Jerrod, and Jonah.
Services for Betty will be 2:00 P.M. Friday, November 18, 2022, at Stegall-Berheide-Orr Funeral Home, Friday, November 18, 2022, with her cousin, Rev. Dennis Collins, officiating.
