Windel R. Stracener, 78, of Centerville, passed away on Friday, August 27, 2021 at his residence after an extended illness.

He was born on August 31, 1942 in El Paso, Arkansas to C. A. and Amy Stone Stracener and had lived most of his life in the Wayne County area. He was a graduate of Richmond High School and was a retired Director of Operations for Griffin Industries.

Survivors include his wife Edna Dooley Stracener whom he married on October 1, 1961; his children Windel A. (Deborah)Stracener, Michele A. Stracener and John A. (Bobbie)Stracener; grandchildren Coleman A. (Roxxy) Stracener, Caitlin A. Stracener, Sarah E. Stracener, John P. Stracener and Caden A. (Caitlyn) Stracener; great-grandchildren Christian Kues and Cecily Stracener; step-grand-children Julie (Lawrance) Hunter, Tony Hodges, Buffy Cheesman, Rosie (Kirby) Mitchell; step-great-grandchildren Tosh Hodges, Brad Cheesman, Nick Cheesman, Jayden Hodges, Gabriell Mitchel, Duvall Lee, Shakari Lee, Jordan Christian, Jalin Christian and Amareea Hunter; step-great-great-grandchildren Sariah Moore, Jaili Moore and Kendrixx Moore;and a brother Carroll (Patricia) Stracener.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Funeral services will be held on Thursday, September 2, 2021 at 10:30 am at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel in Cambridge City with Wayne Greeson officiating. Burial will follow in Crown Hill Cemetery in Centerville, Indiana. Friends may call at Waskom Capitol Hill Chapel on Wednesday, September 1, 2021 from 4:00 pm until 8:00 pm.
