William Edward Johnson, age 71, of Richmond, Indiana, died Saturday, January 9, 2021 at Reid Health.
Born September 15, 1949, in Pontiac, Michigan, to Clair Lavon and Doris Evelyn Batten Johnson, Bill had lived in Richmond for over 20 years. He earned his bachelor’s degree in psychology from Michigan State University. Bill was known as “Coyote” and was recognized by his trademark cowboy hat and boots. He enjoyed playing the guitar for his friends and church services.
Survivors include his sisters, Sue Appel of Florida and Jo Pickett of New York; nieces; nephews; and many friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents and brother.
Due to the current COVID-19 situation, we regret to inform you that services for William Edward Johnson will be private with Elder Stephen Homer officiating. The service will be recorded and available on the Doan & Mills Funeral Home website. Burial will be in Earlham Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by Doan & Mills Funeral Home, 790 National Road West, Richmond.
